Bijal Vachharajani

Bijal Vachharajani has a habit of hugging strange trees she meets on her travels. When not hugging trees and talking to caterpillars who live on them, she's either reading or writing or editing a children's book. Her books include, among others, A Cloud Called Bhura, which won the Auther Children's Book Award 2020, So You Want to Know About the Environment, and Kitten Trouble. She has co-authored 10 Indian Champions Who Are Fighting to Save the Planet and The Great Indian Nature Trail with Uncle Bikky. Her picture books include PS What's up with the Climate?What's Neema Eating Today?That Night and The Seed Savers. Bijal's books have been shortlisted for the Crossword, Valley of Words, Publishing Next and Hindu Young World Good Books awards. The former editor of Time Out Bengaluru, she has a Master's degree in Environment Security and Peace from the University for Peace. Part of the Abhiyan Library movement, she is now a certified climate worrier.
