The Space Race was an exciting time and the 1950s to 1970s saw some of the biggest leaps in space technology and exploration. The race to put the first man on the Moon was eventually won by the USA, when NASA astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first men on the Moon. This book explores the efforts made by both NASA and the Soviet Union to reach the Moon during this period and details some of the extraordinary missions and adventures that occurred, including the Apollo 11 and Apollo 13 missions.
Six books that reveal the thrilling journeys, triumphs and disasters that men and women have experienced in the exploration of our universe. These books examine the mind-blowing technologies involved in space endeavours and tells the all too human stories of some of the key figures.
