The Unlikely Heroics of Sam Holloway
Rhys Thomas
This is not an ordinary love story and Sam Holloway is not your typical hero. But he is a hero...
Sam Holloway is 26 years old and since a terrible tragedy struck in his life he's lost faith in the world. As a means of keeping his grief at bay he needs everything to be just so - he has a strict routine from which he rarely deviates and if he focuses on this and on his mundane job at a Japanese electronics office he can just about avoid confronting the unbearable loneliness of his life.
But three nights a week Sam leaves his small insignificant life behind dons his carefully constructed superhero costume and patrols the streets of his community - preventing crime protecting the vulnerable an acting as a power for good.
When Sam is wearing his superhero costume he feels invincible. But his superhero activities are getting him into some sticky and increasingly dangerous situations.
And when a girl comes into his life - a beautiful perfect girl who actually thinks he is worth talking to - it throws his careful routines into chaos.
Sam needs to decide whether he can be brave enough to take a chance on love. And believing that something good can come after all the pain.
This is a heart-breaking story about grief loss and loneliness. But it's also a heart-warming story about love and the great power of kindness.
