The Earth, Thy Great Exchequer, Ready Lies: Winner of the BBC National Short Story Award

Jo Lloyd

  • Jo Lloyd emerged seemingly from nowhere when she won the BBC National Short Story Award 2019, but she had been quietly publishing stories in many of the best American magazines for over a decade
  • The Earth, Thy Great Exchequer, Ready Lies is the sum total of that decade’s work – nine brilliantly realised stories that announce a truly fresh voice in fiction
  • She already has a number of writer supporters, many of whom have provided quotes
